The Sapphire Rainbow
Sapphire is a variety of corundum (the same mineral family as ruby) and occurs in virtually every colour except red. Our Ceylon sapphire collection spans blue, pink, yellow, purple, white, and the rare pink-orange padparadscha. Each colour is priced and sought after independently: blue remains the classic benchmark, pink and padparadscha command collector premiums, and yellow has grown in popularity for both engagement rings and astrological use.
Unheated vs. Heat-Treated
Most commercial sapphires are enhanced through traditional heat treatment to improve colour saturation and clarity. We stock both heated and unheated stones, with full treatment disclosure on every product page. Unheated Ceylon sapphires, particularly pink, yellow, and padparadscha, command a premium for their rarity and provenance.

What is a Ceylon sapphire?
A Ceylon sapphire is a natural sapphire mined in Sri Lanka (historically called Ceylon). Ceylon origin is prized because the island's alluvial deposits produce sapphires with bright, balanced colour and excellent clarity.
Why choose Ceylon sapphires over other origins?
Ceylon sapphires typically show softer, more saturated colour compared to darker Australian or Thai sapphires, and are generally more available and affordable than top-tier Kashmir or Burmese stones. Every major gemological lab recognises Ceylon as a premium origin.
